Environmental Policy

Since 2005, the Domaine du Mas de Pierre has been “actively committed to” more responsible, local, and human tourism. Aware of the exceptional natural wealth of our region, we place environmental protection “at the heart of our strategy. Our CSR approach is” structured around three strong commitments: preserving biodiversity, responsible purchasing, and rigorous waste management to limit our impact.

Through these actions, we aim to offer our guests an experience of excellence that is sustainable and respectful of our ecosystem.

The Domaine du Mas de Pierre is proud to be a member of Relais & Châteaux, a symbol of “excellence,” authenticity, and “art de vivre. Beyond” a distinction, this membership reflects our deep adherence to the values upheld by the association.
Being a Relais & Châteaux means committing together to a more harmonious world, and we are fully part of this commitment.

Preservation of biodiversity

The preservation of biodiversity is an essential pillar of our CSR approach, and we take great pride in promoting this commitment. Our hotel is particularly distinguished by its exceptional garden, a true haven of greenery that contributes to its reputation. Nestled in the heart of a city surrounded by nature, between land and sea, our establishment benefits from a unique setting that is essential to protect and highlight.

Our daily sustainable actions:

  • Five beehives installed with a dedicated shelter for bees to support local biodiversity.
  • Water-efficient drip irrigation and natural mulching to preserve soil moisture.
  • Zero chemical products: no herbicides, insecticides, or pesticides used in our green spaces.
  • Creation of the Garden of Scents in 2007, a true plant haven for the senses.
  • In-ground vegetable garden since 2008, cultivated with respect for the seasons and nature.
  • Beach cleaning in partnership with local associations to protect the coastline.

Responsible purchasing

Our CSR commitment is based on responsible purchasing and a rigorous selection of local, organic, and seasonal products. In the kitchen, we value homemade products and support regional producers while reducing our carbon footprint. This commitment is also reflected in our treatments and hygiene: organic and French cosmetics, eco-labeled cleaning products, and partnerships with local brands. Each action aims to offer a quality experience that is healthy and respectful of the environment.

Our ethical and responsible commitments:

  • Responsible purchasing charter for sustainable and committed choices with our suppliers.
  • Organic and natural bath products by Volupté, for a respectful sensory experience.
  • 100% of our cleaning products are eco-labeled, for effective and ecological cleaning.
  • Spa cosmetics: Paoma, an organic, ethical, and French brand.
  • At the restaurant: highlighting local producers.
  • Fresh products from our vegetable garden, cultivated with care and without chemical products.
  • Homemade: jams, spreads, and churned butter for authentic and tasty cuisine.

Waste management

In the hospitality sector, waste management is a significant challenge. Our hotel naturally generates a considerable amount of waste, particularly due to hosting a large number of visitors and restaurant activities. Aware of this impact, we have implemented an ambitious strategy to minimize our environmental footprint, acting on two essential axes: waste reduction and recycling.

Reduce, recycle, and reinvent our practices

  • Solidarity recycling: our slippers are collected by Hôtel Solidaire and our soaps transformed by SapoCycle.
  • Sustainable materials: our card holders are printed on seed paper, ready to be planted.
  • Responsible bottles: made from recycled cardboard, with sugar cane caps.
  • On-site microfiltered water: thanks to Aqua Chiara, we limit disposable bottles.
  • Sustainable containers: homemade products served in glass jars.
  • Rigorous sorting in all areas: restaurant, spa, rooms — glass, Nespresso capsules, plastics, papers, cardboard, and organic waste are carefully separated to optimize their recycling.

European Ecolabel — Since 2019
The Domaine du Mas de Pierre is proud to be certified with the European Ecolabel, an official certification that values eco-responsible practices in tourism. This label guarantees a balance between service quality and respect for the environment. The certification is renewed every three years, after a rigorous evaluation.

Green Key — In 2024
In 2023, the Domaine du Mas de Pierre obtained the Green Key label, which rewards establishments committed to sustainable management on a daily basis. This label emphasizes reducing environmental impacts and raising awareness among staff and clients. Renewal is annual, subject to regular control and audit. The Domaine du Mas de Pierre has initiated another audit in 2025 to renew its label and continue its sustainable commitment.
